When Andrea Barbuti talks about innovation, it’s never just about performance, it’s about purpose. As global product management lead for EMEA at PPDS, he has been a driving force behind the company’s global sustainability strategy, steering product design toward energy efficiency and longer lifespans without compromising quality.

Barbuti played a central role in bringing to market the Philips Tableaux, the world’s first full-colour, full-size Advanced Colour ePaper signage display, and the Philips Signage 3650 Series EcoDesign, which consumes up to 70% less energy than comparable 4K UHD models and became the first to earn EPEAT Climate+ Gold status. These achievements haven’t just boosted PPDS’s portfolio, they’ve set new benchmarks for environmentally responsible AV technology.

His career, which began as an AV system integrator in southern Italy before joining PPDS in 2015, has been defined by curiosity and bold ideas. From championing the adoption of Android OS on professional displays to launching the Wave remote device management platform, Barbuti has repeatedly shaped the company’s global strategy.

Now based in Belgium, he remains committed to helping the AV industry become younger, more diverse, and more open - just as he once took a leap from a small Italian town to a global stage, proving that ambition and innovation can travel far.
