After nearly two decades in technical AV roles, Christopher Isak made the leap from field technician to global digital marketing specialist at GPA, bringing hands-on industry experience into the alliance’s worldwide communications. Since joining GPA’s core global team earlier this year, he has overseen digital marketing initiatives including the organisation’s LinkedIn presence and website, helping give both platforms a fresh voice that informs, entertains and connects with AV professionals around the world.


Isak describes his career as one built on learning, unlearning and relearning; a philosophy that has carried him through constant change in technology and business. He takes pride in combining his technical background with creative strategy to produce content that reflects the passion and innovation of the AV industry.


Before stepping into marketing, he spent 19 years at GMS Global Media Services / Forté, progressing from apprentice event technician to experienced AV professional. Beyond his day job, he founded the tech-news publication TechAcute in 2014, gaining firsthand insight into journalism, editing and entrepreneurship, experience he now channels into building GPA’s digital storytelling.


Isak hopes to see greater gender balance and more inclusive outreach across the industry, encouraging the next generation to discover AV as a career where anybody can “live what they love”.
