Terence Gerber

Terence Gerber has built his career on curiosity, technical mastery and a willingness to step outside his comfort zone. Now senior design engineer at Yorktel, he leads design on major international projects, most recently a large-scale deployment for a global biotechnology company in India, encompassing three new buildings and nearly 200 meeting spaces, cafés, and a high-profile Welcome Centre.

Taking responsibility for such a complex project required Gerber to explore unfamiliar technologies and coordinate with global teams across time zones. In doing so, he helped transform the client relationship from a standard supplier dynamic into a close, collaborative partnership, one built on trust, transparency and shared goals.

Gerber’s route into AV has been shaped by perseverance and hands-on learning. From his early days wiring racks after hours to gain technical experience, to mastering commissioning before moving into design, every stage has added depth to his understanding of how systems perform in real-world environments.

Today, he applies that knowledge to create solutions that are both technically robust and practical to deploy. A strong advocate for bridging the gap between AV and IT, Gerber believes that better cross-discipline education will be essential to the industry’s next phase of innovation.
